Born and raised in Oxford, UK, I fell in love with languages from an early age and went on to specialise in Spanish and Portuguese for my BA and MA degrees in the UK, writing my dissertation in Portuguese. After graduation I worked in the BBC Brazilian section for several years and acted as a translator and interpreter on several documentaries filmed in Latin America.
