Languages have always been my passion. I grew up with a French speaking mom and a Dutch speaking dad. This makes me full bilingual in French and Dutch. Languages were my favorite subject at school. I loved discovering new languages. When I was 9 years old I started taking English courses, I wanted to be able to speak and write English as quickly as possible. Once in high school, I mastered the English language perfectly. My English skills only improved with the courses I received at school. In addition to English courses, I also took German courses. After high school, I decided to get my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Throughout my career, I’ve started translating (mostly) medical documents for my employer. I also read and improved the theses for students and Power Point presentations for colleagues. This has rekindled my passion for languages and planted the seed for becoming a freelance translator-proofreader.
- over 20 years of experience in translating business and technology texts - ranging from highly technical texts to sales-oriented communication - on the other side of the spectrum: I have a degree of literature translation, which illustrates my creative approach of texts, if required
