I am a highly motivated London-based freelance translator. I started my career mainly with literary works – Frances Hodgson Burnett, Charles Baudelaire, Irène Némirovsky - and I extended my areas of expertise towards Marketing, Tourism, Travel, Food and Cooking, Education, Journalism, Software & Information Technology, Business & Finance. My qualifications include a first-class honours degree with distinction as well as a distinction-level MA in Modern European Languages and Literature.
My name is Laura and I am a native Italian translator. My main area of expertise is tourism, but I have experience in also other fields. I translate from Italian, English, French, Spanish, and Estonian to Italian, English, and French.
I am a Spanish and English language graduate from the University of Edinburgh (MA Hons, 2:1 with Distinction in Spoken Spanish) and I am currently working as a Translations Manager at a software development company. My working languages are English and Spanish and my native language is Italian. I am very passionate about humanities, and that is why I have made foreign literature, culture, history and linguistics my main field of studies, but I have also learned a lot about marketing.
I am an audiovisual translator from English and (Castilian and Latin American) Spanish into my mother tongues: Italian and Greek. I work as a translator, transcriptionist, subtitler (also for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) or QCer. I subtitle from scratch using WinCAPS Qu4ntum and I am an expert in proofreading and Quality Control.
Graduated in Foreign Languages, interested in translation from English and Spanish into Italian. Attended Translation courses (publishing, tourism and marketing).
