I am an Oxford graduate in biology with a master’s degree in bioarchaeology, currently completing a PhD in public health focusing on medical sociological and anthropological approaches to arboviral epidemics in Latin America. As a native speaker of English (British nationality) with broad research experience in the social and biological sciences in both Spanish and English, I am happy to provide translation and editing services for Spanish to English academic, research and medical work.
I am from the south of England but have learnt my foreign languages living in countries where they are spoken (Spain, France and Brazil). I have been translating for over 10 years and as a Conference Interpreter for 4 years. I also work in tourism and education, which are two of my specialist fields.
I am a translator, proofreader, and writer currently based in Barcelona, Spain. While I specialise in academic critical theory texts, I also have extensive experience working with both journalistic and pharmaceutical publications.
Over twenty-five years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as a Senior Financial Translator at Ernst & Young (Madrid, Spain) and freelance translator / interpreter through my company, The Helpers. I am also an MBA professor. Prior to this period, I was employed at Pfizer, SA for over 17 years in the Business Intelligence Department.
