I grew up speaking both English and Spanish as my family moved between the US, Guatemala, and Mexico. I graduated with an M. Sc. in Geophysics from the University of Oklahoma and worked in the upstream oil and gas industry for 14 years. After the downturn in 2015-2016, translation became a natural career change. My freelance career is founded on my experience and in-depth knowledge of the need to communicate information in a precise and timely manner. I've worked with oil and gas independent operators, service companies, and reserves certification companies where accuracy in the translated material is of the utmost importance. In addition to technical translations, I also have experience in literary translations, having translated 15 books that are currently published, with many more to come.
I am a bright, energetic, and experienced multilingual translator, eager to continue my growth and development in the pursuit of meaningful work. I work from both Japanese and Spanish into English. I have a degree in Applied Languages and Translation Studies from Dublin City University. My specialties include literary translation and entertainment translation, and I also have experience in legal translation.
