I am a qualified freelance interpreter and translator looking to widen my client base. I am a polyglot and a state-certified translator for German-English-German. I studied translation with the specialization science and medicine at the SDI in Munich and afterwards a Bachelors degree in general and Indo-Germanic linguistics at the LMU in Munich. Hello. I am a graduate of Rutgers University with a Master’s in Translation and Interpretation. I am also a secondary school Spanish teacher with 28 years of experience. Most importantly I am a mom of 2 beautiful children. I am from the south of England but have learnt my foreign languages living in countries where they are spoken (Spain, France and Brazil). I have been translating for over 10 years and as a Conference Interpreter for 4 years. I also work in tourism and education, which are two of my specialist fields. With a BS in Geological & Geophysical Sciences and an MS in Marine Environmental Sciences, my clients benefit from both my education and real-life experience in environmental consulting and regulation. This, combined with 10 years of language teaching experience as well as eight plus years of technical translation experience, allow me to produce accurate translations of technical, scientific and academic documents written in the appropriate register. My areas of specialization include Environment & Ecology, Geology, Renewable Energy, Wastewater Treatment, Geotechnical Studies, Sustainability and Environmental Regulation. In addition, I have developed a significant repertoire of translations in other scientific and technical fields including medical and dental research, clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, industrial processes and engineering, construction, wind turbines, urban planning, and a wide range of instruction manuals for a variety of industrial applications.
