French-to-English translator with 15 years of experience. Master's in political science. Client focused and open to feedback for productive relationships and optimal results.
I have been translating for 25 years and am as passionate about it now as I was the day I started. My translations are revised by my translation partner before delivery. I produce texts that are clear, idiomatic and sensitive to the tone and style of the source text. I am a certified member of the Québec order of translators (OTTIAQ).
My areas of expertise include health, education (textbooks and teaching tools), immigration and heritage. I also translate exhibition texts for a number of Canadian history and fine arts museums.
In the last 10 years, I have honed my editing skills and am called on regularly by publishers, museums and government ministries to edit final texts before publication.
I was raised in English and French, educated in English. Obtained a B.Sc. in Microbiology and a MBA in Operations Management and worked in industry for over 25 years prior to completing my translation studies.
I have a BA Hons in Applied Modern Languages and have lived in France for over 40 years, married to a Frenchman. I am passionate about languages (and particularly translation), travelling, communicating and discovering new places and people.
I am a conscientious worker and pay particular attention to presentation, grammar and spelling.
