Hi, my name is Jenny Garcia, Spanish Translator with four years of experience.
I am a freelance English-Spanish certified translator born and raised in Argentina, and I am based in Israel since March 2020. I have two degrees in English-Spanish translation, and I have been working as a professional translator and proofreader since 2009.
From 2009 to 2014, I worked as a part-time freelance translator while having full-time jobs in different companies. I also worked as Translation Project Manager for one year. I was responsible for managing multiple translation projects English for global clients. This position provided me with an extremely valuable experience that is currently helping me to reach customer satisfaction and be more efficient in my translations.
I am a sworn translator, and since I started to work full time as a translator I mainly worked on legal and financial translations. Furthermore, I worked for 5 years in Customer Service for Blue Cross and Blue Shield (US healthcare company), where I gained vast knowledge in the healthcare industry.
Experience in translation for about 17 years for domestic and foreign organizations. I have also been teaching the English language in tertiary education institutions.
For 20 years I have been freelancing as a translator & interpreter with two pairs of languages (English, Italian>Spanish) and as a proofreader and editor. I also have 5 years of experience in Portuguese>Spanish and I'm currently training in German>Spanish
Besides, I have worked as a lexicographer developing Spanish dictionaries for a well-known Argentinean publishing house. A member of three professional associations (IAPTI, AATI, and PLECA), I also teach a literary translation workshop at a local bookshop. In addition, I have also worked as a TV host and a journalist.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from Italian parents, I'm kind of a rare breed: a language-loving bookworm who also loves sports. A bookish four-eyes who also swims and runs—a runnerd (a nickname that for some reason I really enjoy).
