I've been working as a freelance translator since 2013, born in Belgium but now living in the Netherlands. I specialise mainly in medical translations, but also market research. I also provide transcription services.
Qualified professional with more than 8 years of translation experience. I translate from German and English into Dutch. My main areas of expertise are marketing, retail, law, medical and technical translations.
As a former chemical analyst (1993-2016, mainly in pharmaceutical industries/organisations) I have specialised in the field of chemical/pharmaceutical translations (English, Italian and French to Dutch).
Other fields of interest/experience are history, travel and tourism.
Languages have always been my passion. I grew up with a French speaking mom and a Dutch speaking dad. This makes me full bilingual in French and Dutch. Languages were my favorite subject at school.
I loved discovering new languages. When I was 9 years old I started taking English courses, I wanted to be able to speak and write English as quickly as possible. Once in high school, I mastered the English language perfectly. My English skills only improved with the courses I received at school. In addition to English courses, I also took German courses.
After high school, I decided to get my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Throughout my career, I’ve started translating (mostly) medical documents for my employer. I also read and improved the theses for students and Power Point presentations for colleagues. This has rekindled my passion for languages and planted the seed for becoming a freelance translator-proofreader.
